VIU announced that the VIU Mariners have become official partners with Adidas and Kahunaverse Sports.
On October 8, following the PACWEST court sport season openers, the Vancouver Island University Athletics and Recreation announced their official partnership with Adidas and Kahunaverse Sports Group. Kahunaverse Sports is now the official T-shirt, sports apparel, and uniform supplier for the VIU Mariners. The new apparel will be worn with pride as the Mariner stalwarts of the PACWEST conference and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA-ACSC) play through the 2019-2020 season.
VIU Director of High-Performance Sport, Recreation and Physical Literacy, Stephanie White, said “When looking for a team apparel and uniform provider, Kahunaverse Sports and Adidas provided the best program and opportunity for us to outfit our Mariners’ student-athletes for success … Adidas is a global leader in sport apparel, uniforms, and the shoe industry, combined with Kahunaverse’s experience in the Canadian college and university field, provides us a solid partner for our program.”
Kahunaverse Sports is the largest sports provider in Canada for institutional and team sporting equipment, accessories, and apparel. The sports group offers sport specific player and team essentials for a plethora of sports. The Kahunaverse website suggests their mission is “To outfit and inspire the athlete in all of us, and help create a lifetime of memories through the journey of sport, from prospect to pro.”
Beyond annual partner benefits, Kahunaverse Sports will offer Mariners alternative pricing on Adidas footwear, apparel, miTeam orders, and accessories. Other benefits of the partnership include athlete discounts to the Kahunaverse Sports e-commerce site, and potential access to a 24/7 online Mariners Athletics apparel store.
The VIU Campus Store will also offer new Mariners Adidas gear, including T-shirts, backpacks, hats, jackets, and more.
