In his final feature of Volume 57, Sports Videographer Liam Prendergast hits the court with the VIU Men’s Basketball team as they prepare to host the 2026 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship. Prendergast sits down with Head Coach Matt Kuzminski, along with players Ryan Bastian and Kai Leighton, to talk about postseason preparation and what it means to compete for a national championship on home court. This tournament will also mark the end of an era for the Mariners. Kuzminski, who has led the program since 2013, will step away following the postseason. After more than a decade at the helm, he said it was time to move on and help grow the game at the grassroots level. The tournament runs March 18–21 at the VIU Gymnasium, with the Mariners opening matchup at 6PM on the 18th. Tournament passes are available now on Showpass.
