Students, staff, and the public are invited to the grand opening of the “Nature in the Arts” display at VIU’s Museum of Natural History on Tuesday, March 8. This event marks the beginning of a three-week display of artwork inspired by the natural world, created by students and faculty members from several departments across campus, including Fine Arts and Sciences. Free food and beverages will be served, and a number of artists and museum staff will be on-site to explain the techniques that have gone into the artwork, as well as to show the museum and the array of fantastic specimens within. If you are unable to make it to the initial event, or would like to come by for further viewings, the display will be set up in the museum from Monday, March 7 through Friday, March 25.

If you are interested in participating or submitting pieces for display, go to the museum (open Tuesdays 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Fridays 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) to talk with the staff, or email jamesmackinnon11@gmail.com for more information.
