VIU Graduate Programs Expo

The Next Step

Don’t know what to do after you graduate? Vancouver Island University’s (VIU’s) Graduate Programs Expo can help.

VIU has a variety of postgraduate options, from master’s degrees to certificates and advanced diplomas, in programs such as Business, Education, and Fisheries and Aquaculture. However, navigating this world can be daunting.

The Expo will answer questions students have about grad school, connect them to support services, and feature alumni who will share their experiences.

The drop-in event is being hosted on Wednesday, January 19th, through the online event platform PheedLoop. Using PheedLoop, participants can browse through the different program booths at the Exhibit Hall.

There will also be live Q&A sessions with faculty (marked under “Sessions”) and chances to network with staff, faculty, and other attendees (under “Networking”).

The Expo will begin at 4 p.m. PST, with the exhibitor booth exploration, followed by opening keynote talks at 4:15. The speakers are 2021 Master of Business Administration (BMA) graduate Sandipan Debnath and VIU Associate Vice-President of Student Affairs Irlanda Gonzalez Price.

There will be a break at 4:30 for networking and further exploration. From 5-8, participants can also engage in live Q&A sessions and networking opportunities.

The Expo will end with a live panel by the Office of Co-Curricular Engagement and Learning Student Experience.

Outside of The Nav, she volunteers as a Peer Helper and is doing another year of Portal Magazine. This summer, a solo trip to Japan ignited Sophia’s wanderlust. She hopes to return soon, next time with a stop in Korea.
